osteomyelitis of the toe - this patient presented with swelling, redness, and pain to the Left foot. Has a chronic wound on the plantar side of the toe, but over the last week developed increased swelling and pain. X-rays demonstrated bone destruction consistent with Osteomyelitis, but the patient's blood count, lactic acid was normal. Pt was admitted to the hospital and given Vancomycin IV and Zosyn and consulted for probable surgical debridement.
